On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Earth Company hosted a one-day Cards for Life workshop at Mana Earthly Paradise, Bali, led by Thomas Mansfield, the deck’s creator. The gathering offered a nourishing experience to living systems, regeneration, and reconnecting with inner and outer nature.
Cards for Life is much more than a card deck—it’s a living language, a global community of practice, and a connective tissue for the regenerative movement. Developed by Thomas Mansfield, the deck features 72 cards across three sets: Dynamics, Being, and Doing. Each card offers personal invitations for reflection and practice, alongside questions for collective application—all inspired by living systems metaphors such as wholeness, entanglement, pattern, and emergence. The cards help individuals and teams define what regeneration means in their own contexts, blending systems literacy, poetic inquiry, and practical action.

The workshop welcomed 13 participants—including leaders, educators, facilitators, and community builders—each practicing regenerative principles in their own lines of work. Through a series of meditative introspection and opening sharing, the participants reflected on how concepts like disruption, gratitude, and keystone species are manifested in our surroundings and expressed within us. The experience was deeply nourishing, inspiring personal and professional insights.
“Awesome session with Cards for Life, great learning with fascinating people. Let’s all keep leaning forward intro enabling a better planet!” - Laurence Smith
“I found the tool helpful in grounding the complex nature of the concepts around regeneration. What I like the most out of the cards is the reflection part. I see it very helpful in connecting the user with the aspects of regeneration on an individual & internal level; to reconnect with the self, how we see the world and the role we play in shaping its future -- something that humanity is in dire need of today. As a facilitator for environmental care, the Cards for Life is a great tool to have to make discussions and learning around regeneration meaningful and relatable.” - Irma Sitompul

A heartfelt thank you to Thomas Mansfield for holding such a restorative space in these tumultuous times, and for bringing Cards for Life to this part of the world. Hosting this workshop at Mana Earthly Paradise was truly an honor. The Earth Company team is excited to see how the seeds of insight planted during this experience will continue to flourish in the lives and work of those who attended.
