AVPN Global Conference Participants Explore Bali’s Social Impact Scene

During this year’s Asia Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) global conference in Bali, Earth Company had the opportunity to welcome the conference attendees on an Impact Bali Excursion.

A total of 22 AVPN conference participants, from 16 international organizations, joined us to get firsthand accounts of how Bali – Ubud specifically – is becoming a hub of social innovation.

Together with event partners Kopernik and Bumi Sehat, the delegates set off on a half-day excursion to witness the impactful work of each organization in tackling some of the issues that are so apparent in Bali and Indonesia.

The first group of participants, on June 23rd, visited Bumi Sehat Clinic to meet with Impact Hero 2016, Robin Lim and hear how gentle, loving birth can lead to world peace. On the next day, the second group visited Kopernik’s office to explore their three core types of work anchored in lean experimentation to find solutions for social and environmental challenges.

Following each visit, the delegates toured the Mana Earthly Paradise property, meeting Earth Company’s co-founder Tomo Hamakawa who delivered an overview of how it is creating regenerative futures for all lives.

Big thanks to Yayasan Bumi Sehat and Kopernik for taking part in the Impact Bali Excursions and inspiring the participants to pursue a sustainable, peaceful, and just world.
