Re: Bali – Celebrating 11 Years of Regeneration and Community
More than a celebration, the gathering was an invitation to honor the people who protect Bali’s nature, culture, and spirit. By bringing together changemakers, communities, and organizations, the day became a living reflection of what regeneration truly means: connection, collaboration, and shared hope for the island’s future.
11 Years of Regeneration with Earth Company

For over a decade, Earth Company has been rooted in Bali—working with changemakers across Asia-Pacific through our flagship programs, Impact Heroes, and facilitating regenerative training programs that bring awareness to Bali's social and environmental crises, through Imapct Academy.
Each has cultivated its own community and ripple of change, reaching far beyond the island. And yet, we had never truly gathered our community here at home. Re: Bali changed that.
Following last year’s anniversary theme, Re: Earth, this event carried the same spirit of reflection and response. Just like in an email where “Re:” means “reply,” Re: Bali is our collective reply to the environmental and social challenges our island faces today.
Bali, for all its beauty, stands at a crossroads. Rapid tourism development, climate-induced disasters, the loss of farmland, an aging and declining numbers of farmers, waste management struggles, and water scarcity have all taken a toll. Re: Bali aims to become a space for honest dialogue. A place where changemakers and communities could share their work, connect, and co-create solutions for a regenerative future.
This anniversary marked our commitment to deepen relationships with local partners and neighbors.
🌺 A Celebration of Connection and Collaboration
The day unfolded beautifully at Mana, with over 100 participants and more than 60 organizations and social enterprises (!!!) joining from across Bali.
From the start, there was a sense of warmth and curiosity—a shared purpose to learn, connect, and co-create. The event aimed to:
- Expand Earth Company’s presence in Bali
- Deepen meaningful relationships
- Plant new seeds of collaboration
🌱 Workshops that Sparked Reflection and Play
A series of interactive workshops filled the day with hands-on learning and laughter that reminded everyone regeneration can be both thoughtful and joyful.

Astungkara Way, founded by Impact Hero 2025 Runner-up Tim Fijal, led the Seed of Regeneration workshop. The workshop focused on guiding participants to reflect on nature’s cycles and how we can live in harmony with the land.

Saisei Workshop led by facilitator of SAISEI-DO explored the meaning of regeneration through shared stories and dialogue, sparking new ideas and perspectives.

The Sea Bass Game, an award-winning game created by Earth Company, and facilitated for the first time in Bali, brought systems thinking to life, helping participants understand the balance between social and ecological impact.

Finally, Eco Games wrapped up the afternoon with energy and laughter. A perfect reminder that learning for change can also be play.
🔥 Voice of Regeneration: A Discussion about Bali

The highlight of Re: Bali was the “What About Bali?” Talkshow — a heartfelt dialogue moderated by co-founder Aska Hamakawa, featuring four inspiring changemakers:
- Robin Lim, Impact Hero 2016 and founder of Bumi Sehat
- Gede Robi, musician, activist, and co-founder of Music Declares Emergency Indonesia
- Aniek, community leader of Kelecung Eco Village and Impact Academy partner
- Shinta Palupi, analyst and researcher at Astungkara Way
Together, they reflected on the island’s urgent challenges (from environmental degradation to cultural shifts) and shared the creative, community-driven solutions they’re leading.
Beyond policies and projects, their stories revealed the human side of regeneration: perseverance, love for the land, and hope for the next generation.
🌧️ A Rainy, Yet Radiant Ending

Just as the talkshow ended, a sudden rain swept through Ubud. But instead of scattering, everyone gathered warmly inside Mana’s restaurant laughing, connecting, and turning the downpour into a moment of shared joy.
The evening closed with a lively performance by Robi, where participants, speakers, and even all Earth Company and Mana Earthly Paradise team sang and danced together. It was the perfect ending of spontanity, joy, and deep connection.
🌏 Planting New Seeds for the Future
More than just an anniversary event, Re: Bali was a reminder of why we do what we do.
By bringing together the people who care deeply for Bali’s future, the event became a seedbed for collaboration and collective impact.
We are deeply grateful to all facilitators, speakers, and participants who joined with open hearts, open minds, and bright energy. Together, we continue to nurture the movement for regeneration — one seed, one story, and one gathering at a time.
Hope to see you next year! 🎉
