In collaboration with GiFT, the Impact Academy team hosted the 12th batch of an amazing group of students for the Diversity Voyage Summer program. 

Over the course of one week, 24 university students from Indonesia and Japan bonded together while delving into cross-cultural learning, developing as mindful global citizens and future changemakers. The students felt empowered not only learning about sustainable business practices and cultural diversity, but embarking on their self-discovery journeys and creating life-long friendships.

During the 7-day program all of the students participated in several hands-on activities that allowed them to learn more about the landscape of social enterprises, which included:

• Hearing our the life stories of our co-founders, Tomo and Aska
• Deep dive into Mana’s sustainability features,
• Cultural immersion and walking tour in Bali’s cultural capital, Ubud,
• Meditation walk to encourage mindfulness practices.

For their final task, the students broke out into groups and collaborated to come up with business ideas that inspire new collaboration opportunities between Mana and local opportunities.

Each group presented practical, implementable proposals: from ideas like joint-hosting community festivals to upcycling waste into kites, and even establishing a community compost center to encourage waste segregation.

We’re proud and grateful for the students for stepping up to the plate during the program. The overall outcome of this year’s program was solid, and we certainly hope to see them thrive as the next generation of changemakers.
